Engineering Pipe Datasheets & Technical Specifications
GEOLUR provides technical datasheet guidance for PVC/PVC-U monitoring pipes, ABS inclinometer casings, PE/HDPE engineering pipes and custom perforated pipes, helping engineers specify, compare and request project-ready products.
Technical Datasheet Resource
A datasheet should answer the engineering questions before the pipe reaches site.
This GEOLUR resource explains how to read, compare and request datasheets for PVC/PVC-U monitoring pipes, ABS inclinometer casings, PE/HDPE engineering pipes and custom perforated pipes. It is designed for engineers, procurement teams, contractors and consultants who need technical information for product selection and submittal review.
Critical parameters
Material, dimensions, connection, mechanical limits and functional geometry should be visible enough to judge suitability.
Compare like with like
The same nominal description can hide different ID, wall, joint, groove, slot or installation limits.
Data is not approval
A datasheet supports review; final acceptance depends on the project specification, approved submittal and responsible engineer.
Datasheet Library
Four product families. Four different technical data priorities.
This page is the resource hub. Exact model- or configuration-specific values should remain on the relevant GEOLUR product page or controlled PDF datasheet.
Monitoring & Well Pipes
Standpipes, piezometers, groundwater monitoring, recharge and dewatering wells.
PVC products →Inclinometer Casings
Borehole/horizontal inclinometers, walls, slopes, tunnels and excavations.
ABS casings →Engineering Pipes
Deep dewatering, recharge/relief, pumping, environmental and corrosive environments.
PE / HDPE products →Perforated Pipes
Project-specific slot/hole geometry, rows, pitch, orientation and screened length.
Perforated pipes →How to Read a Datasheet
Do not stop at diameter and material.
A useful datasheet connects the product name to compatibility, installation and service conditions. Check whether a value describes the actual offered configuration or only a wider product family.
| Field | Why it matters | Review question |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Stiffness, impact, temperature, chemicals, joining. | Is the stated material/grade the project requirement? |
| OD / ID / Wall | Borehole clearance, probe/pump access, coupling fit. | Nominal or actual dimensions? What tolerance? |
| Connection | Assembly, alignment, seal, maximum OD and tensile behaviour. | What joint and accessories are supplied? |
| Mechanical data | Deep installation may depend on collapse/tensile/pressure limits. | Does the value apply to pipe, screen, coupling or joint? |
| Functional geometry | Grooves, slots and perforations affect measurement/hydraulics. | What geometry and tolerance are controlled? |
| Certificate scope | Certificates are product-specific. | Does it apply to the exact offered item? |
PVC / PVC-U Datasheets
For monitoring and well pipe, hydraulic geometry and installation strength both matter.
A PVC/PVC-U datasheet should identify plain casing versus screen and expose the dimensions, connection and screen geometry needed for groundwater monitoring, recharge or dewatering.
- Material / grade or formulation
- Actual OD and ID
- Wall thickness and length
- Plain or screened section
- Slot width / tolerance
- Open area where required
- Joint / coupling type
- Maximum joint OD
- Collapse/depth data if applicable
- Joint tensile data if applicable
- Temperature / chemical limits
- Caps and accessories
ABS Inclinometer Casing Datasheets
The groove system is a measurement interface — not decorative geometry.
ABS casing should be documented as part of the inclinometer measurement system. Internal guide grooves orient the probe or in-place sensors; spiral/twist, casing dimensions and coupling geometry can therefore affect measurement and installation.
Geometry
OD, ID, length, four guide grooves/keyways, groove orientation and spiral/twist criterion.
Joint system
Standard, fixed, push-fit or telescopic coupling; dimensions, alignment/sealing and telescoping range.
Mechanical data
Collapse, bend, tensile, torque and temperature data where available for the exact system.
PE / HDPE Datasheets
Material grade, dimensional series and joining method must be read together.
PE/HDPE engineering pipe may suit groundwater-control, environmental or corrosive conditions, but the datasheet must identify the actual pipe system. A pressure-pipe standard should not be assumed to cover every screen or custom-perforated configuration.
Pipe definition
Material grade/type, OD, wall or SDR/series, length and intended duty.
Joining
Butt fusion, electrofusion, threaded or mechanical joints require different equipment and field QA/QC.
Evidence
If EN, ISO, FM, EN 10204 or another requirement applies, verify the exact certificate/product scope.
Custom Perforated Pipe Data
For a custom screen, the approved drawing is part of the datasheet.
A generic PDF cannot fully define project-specific perforation. GEOLUR recommends pairing the base-pipe datasheet with a controlled fabrication drawing.
- Base-pipe material / reference
- OD / ID / wall / length
- Slot or hole geometry
- Opening tolerance
- Number of rows
- Longitudinal / circumferential pitch
- Orientation
- Perforated interval
- Open area if required
- Unperforated end lengths
- Deburring / finish
- Drawing number / revision
Datasheet Comparison
A fast comparison matrix for engineers and procurement teams.
| Parameter | PVC / PVC-U | ABS | PE / HDPE | Custom Perforated |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary function | Well casing/screen | Probe/sensor guide | Well/engineering pipe | Hydraulic opening |
| Critical geometry | OD/ID/wall + slot | OD/ID + groove/spiral | OD/wall/SDR | Base pipe + opening pattern |
| Connection focus | Profile, seal, strength | Alignment/movement | Weld/thread/mechanical | Base-pipe joint |
| Extra document | Screen schedule | Installation/manual data | Joining procedure if relevant | Fabrication drawing |
Datasheet QA/QC
A technical PDF is useful only when it matches the product being supplied.
GEOLUR, operated by GeoOrigin Engineering Limited, should connect each final datasheet or project submittal to an identifiable product/configuration and keep custom revisions controlled.
Revision control
Document number, revision and issue date.
Product identity
Material, size/configuration and relevant product/drawing reference.
Units & test basis
Clear units and whether values are nominal, typical, minimum or test-derived.
Certificate scope
Confirm certificates apply to the offered item.
Deviation control
Show deviations rather than silently substituting a nearby product.
Custom drawing
Reference the fabrication drawing revision in commercial and QA documents.
Regional Engineering Context
Datasheet priorities change with project conditions.
The same polymer pipe may be used in different environments. Review datasheet information against installation conditions, not only logistics.
Soft ground & groundwater control
Deep excavations and dewatering can make alignment, well depth, collapse behaviour and joint reliability important.
Traceability & standards
Environmental and infrastructure work may require stronger product identity, certificate scope and controlled documentation.
Heat, UV & salinity
Temperature, storage, UV, chemical conditions, pipe length and packing can affect selection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Engineering pipe datasheet FAQs.
Does a datasheet prove project approval?
No. It describes a product. Project approval depends on the specification, submittal requirements and responsible project parties.
What should an ABS casing datasheet show?
Material, OD/ID, length, guide-groove geometry, joint/coupling information and relevant spiral/twist or mechanical data.
Why does PVC well screen need extra data?
The screen is also a hydraulic interface, so slot geometry, open area, wall, connection and mechanical behaviour can matter.
Is SDR enough for HDPE?
No. Also define material/type, OD, joining method, configuration, application and project-specific requirements.
How should custom perforated pipe be documented?
Use a base-pipe datasheet plus a controlled drawing showing openings, rows, pitch, orientation, interval, tolerances and revision.
Can competitor values be used as GEOLUR specifications?
No. Competitor data shows what parameters can be disclosed; their values and certificates remain specific to their products.
